No boundaries exist…

The 2011 World Solar Challenge marks the 22nd anniversary of the biennial event based on a competitive field of solar cars, powered only by the sun, crossing the Australian continent.

Teams are required to research, design and build vehicles capable of completing the 3000km journey from tropical Darwin in the Northern Territory, to cosmopolitan Adelaide in South Australia.

The attraction of the event continues to be the challenge of human ingenuity versus the elements – providing a focus for bright young minds to excel in the fields of engineering, physics, electrochemistry and mathematics.

It has been heralded as proving an unparalleled multi-disciplined learning environment and a unique personal experience.

South Australians want a growth and dynamic economy that is competitive, resilient and diverse. South Australia needs support of businesses to build on the capacity to do things differently and achieve – our goal is to have the fastest car, with the best technology!

To contribute and help us get across the line:
